Graduate Attributes

This section of the Learning & Teaching @ UNSW Website has been designed to support individuals, groups of staff, Schools and Faculties in the development and assessment of graduate attributes at UNSW. You can find out about graduate attributes, access resources for staff such as toolkits and information about student portfolios, and find out about curriculum mapping processes for the integration of graduate attributes into the curriculum.

For those new to graduate attributes we have developed a "getting started" section that provides answers to common questions. While curriculum mapping is often associated with large-scale program review and can seem like a daunting process, there are a number of ways for individual staff members to become involved. The section on curriculum mapping addresses frequently asked questions and provides examples of processes that Faculties across the University are currently engaged in.

Learning & Teaching @ UNSW provides support for the development and assessment of graduate attributes in a number of ways. For example:

• by providing workshops and events such as UNILT workshops and forums e.g. the First Year Experience Forum - First Contact: The Challenge of Integrating Graduate Attributes from First Year;
• through the development of resources such as toolkits to support staff in developing and assessing contextualized graduate attributes;
• through the development of case studies addressing the development and assessment of particular graduate attributes in the UNSW Compendium of Good Practice in Learning and Teaching;
• through support for the development of policies and procedures related to graduate attributes such as curriculum mapping; and
• through the UNSW Learning and Teaching Awards.
