Approach
The activities and services provided by Learning & Teaching @ UNSW can be divided into three key areas:
Building, supporting, and providing resources for communities of practice in learning and teaching Learning & Teaching @ UNSW actively supports and facilitates the development of communities of practice in learning and teaching at UNSW. In particular, the Learning & Teaching @ UNSW provides opportunities for groups of staff to share ideas, issues, and resources in learning and teaching. We also support the development of learning and teaching interest groups, such as the Library Learning and Teaching Interest Group and the Science Learning and Teaching Interest Group. Curriculum development and the design, facilitation and evaluation of professional development activities in learning and teaching A key focus of learning and teaching is on face-to-face, practical staff development activities. These include workshops, forums and courses on different areas of learning and teaching offered to academic, general, new and existing staff throughout the year. Individual and group consultations In addition to workshops, Learning & Teaching @ UNSW provide individual, group, faculty and school support in learning and teaching including support for course and program development and the development of learning and teaching resources. This includes providing support for the integration of the UNSW Guidelines on Learning that Inform Teaching and the UNSW graduate attributes. Development of education policy and support for other strategic initiatives in learning and teaching Learning & Teaching @ UNSW is actively engaged in the development of education policy at UNSW and in the advancement and implementation of meaningful processes to facilitate current policy focuses. These include the UNSW Guidelines on Learning that Inform Teaching and the UNSW graduate attributes. |
