Biography (Full Biography) Stephen joined UNSW in November 2008 as professor in the School of Education in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Director of Learning and Teaching @ UNSW. His research interests focus on higher education and include academic leadership, professional and staff development, policy implementation and change, educational innovation, program evaluation, and university governance. His current research projects focus on: the nature of academic leadership; the development of academic leaders and managers; and curriculum innovation and change in higher education institutions. |

Biography Jan has worked at UNSW for many years in a range of learning and teaching positions and joined Learning and Teaching @UNSW in 2008 as Senior Lecturer. Her current role is co-ordinating the accredited programs offered within the unit including the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching as well as the soon to be available Masters of Philosophy in Higher Education. She also oversees the Foundations of University Learning and Teaching program and Sessional staff programs.In former positions, Jan was responsible for co-ordinating a research development program for women at UNSW, and also worked in the Faculty of Medicine as co-ordinator of the GCULT, and in the Professional Development Centre as an educational developer. Jan’s current research interests include the role of reflective practice in learning and teaching, the impact of professional development upon teaching and learning, and the position of academic women in higher education. |

It also includes development of just-in-time learning opportunities for staff to assist them to use the technologies, applications, systems and services associated with the University’s enterprise level TELT platform in pedagogically sound ways. |

Biography Patrick Stoddart is the Manger, Research & Innovation. Patrick was previously the Manager for Research & IT for the Educational Development & Technology Centre. Previously working at the University of Sydney, he joined UNSW in 2001. The change of focus towards research and innovation over the years reflects the achievements in that time of moving from a purely IT role, to one of driving the investigation and deployment of both centralised and faculty level eLearning services.Patrick works directly with academic staff and groups together in investigating innovative technologies and educational practices, and advising on curriculum and program design incorporating educational technologies and related methodologies. Patrick is also responsible for the management of Learning & Teaching's diverse internal ICT needs, and liaison and co-ordination of Learning & Teaching IT services needs with IT @ UNSW. |

Biography Ann Wilson is the Educational Developer at the AGSM. Ann’s background is as an educationalist, lecturing in the UK and developing, designing and delivering education and training programs. Ann has taught at North West London College, and The Open University, in the UK. She has worked with NSW TAFE, researching instructional design issues, developing and designing training packages, curriculum development and researching open learning methodology. Ann has worked as an educational design consultant for a number of public and private organisations including State Rail, ICAC, Telstra, Optus, RTA, and has worked with the MBA (Executive) Program for a number of years. She has lectured in adult education, written for a number of educational journals and presented papers at education and training conferences. She has a research interest in the assessment of adult learning and the design, development and delivery of online learning. Ann holds the degrees of BA (Hons) in Politics and Economics from the University of Leicester, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Adults) and MA in Adult Education from the University of London. |
