Strategy
The distinctive approach of Learning and Teaching @ UNSW is characterised by direct engagement with academic and non-academic staff in the development and support of their learning and teaching practice. Our approach aims to develop and expand the university's strategic focus on learning and teaching, as established in the UNSW Strategic Plan and the UNSW Learning and Teaching Plan 2008 - 2010 which will be available shortly. One of the key strategies underlying this approach is the building of communities of practice in learning and teaching to sustain continual engagement in, and improvement of, the student learning experience.
Most of the Learning and Teaching @ UNSW activities focus on face-to-face communication and collaboration with staff involved in learning and teaching. Learning & Teaching @ UNSW places strong emphasis on promoting and supporting collaborative learning and teaching activities among academic and general staff, and also among staff from different units and disciplines across the university.
Learning & Teaching @ UNSW works closely with other units in the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) in the development of programs
and strategies to promote and improve teaching practices with a view to enhancing the student learning experience.
