Customised workshops

Learning & Teaching@UNSW may be able to assist you with designing and facilitating workshops in areas of need or interest identified by your school or faculty. For example, we have assisted staff in facilitating workshops on developing and embedding graduate attributes, developing course outlines, and developing teaching portfolios.

Feel free to browse the list of workshops and events currently being offered by L&T@UNSW.

For more information, please contact us by email L&T@UNSW or phone 55989.

Workshops and events

Learning & Teaching @ UNSW coordinates a number of workshops and events:

Some workshops can be booked via our online registration system, or if not available online, please register through the contacts listed below.

UNSW Learning and Teaching Forums

Forums are regularly held to discuss pertinent student learning and teaching related issues. Forums are open to all staff and students. Staff are invited to make presentations and partake in the discussions around a set theme.

L&T Forums typically aim to:

  • Provide opportunities for participants to share their ideas, strategies and experiences of assessment, and to identify synergies;
  • provide opportunities to hear about and discuss the projects developed by recipients of Learning and Teaching Award grants; and
  • recognise the learning and teaching efforts and achievements of our colleagues from across the University.

The next Forum will be held on Friday September 11 2009. See the L&T forum 09 page for details.

Previous Forums held include:

2006 - The Advancement of Learning: Assessment and Beyond

2004 - The Postgraduate Coursework Experience: Meeting the Challenges

2003 - The First Year Experience

UNSW Learning and Teaching Awards grants scheme

Since 2002, L&T@UNSW has coordinated the Learning and Teaching Awards. These grants enable staff to develop projects in areas of identified learning and teaching priority. In 2004, the theme of the awards was improving the postgraduate coursework experience, and in 2005-06 it is enhancing student engagement in learning and teaching. Awardees are required to attend three workshops and present a paper at the annual Learning and Teaching Forum. The workshops are limited to awardees, but the Forum is open to all UNSW staff and students.

For information about the Learning and Teaching Awards, please contact us by email L&T@UNSW or phone 55989.
